My Presentation compares the search populatrity of the phrase "is ebola deadly" worldwide, in America, and in California. I am intrested in this because I want to see if the search popularity of this phrase corresponds with the timing of ebola outbreaks in other countries or, in America's case, the few people who brought it here. I have always been fascinated with epidemics and thought this would be a good topic to research and compare.
Source Summary:
- In August of 2014, Laura Smith-Spark published an article on cnn.com about a California patient who had just been tested for ebola. The patient, who had recently returned from a trip to West Africa, was luckily tested negative for the virus
- In November of 2014, Sydney Lupkin published an article on abcnews.go.com containing statistics on ebola and the timeline of the infected people, who came to America, and their encounter with the virus
- On the the 14th of January, 2016, and article on mapping the outbreak of ebola was published on bbc.com
